As much as I would like for time to stop so that I can enjoy spending every moment with Makayla, it just hasn't happened yet. I am officially back in the 'real world'. I have to say though, I was worried what missing the first two weeks of school would do to my students. Would they be out of control devil kids?? Would they respect me?? Would they have learned the content?? Luckily, I had the best substitute a girl could ask for and they all learned the content and we have all transitioned into the new routine nicely. I have super small classes compared to last year and such great kids!! I am so lucky!
Makayla started going to daycare last week and we got really lucky there as well. There is a lady that lives really close to us that watches children in her home. She has around 5 kids, some part-time, some after school, but no more than 5 at a time. And let me tell you, just like everyone else, she fell in love with Makayla right away!! It's going great. Even though I wish I could stay home with her, I feel safe leaving her there.
