Big Girl

Makayla is officially a big girl. When we got home from vacation Makayla started climbing out of her crib. Awesome. She is so proud of herself, but it makes me so sad!! Big girl bed, here we come! We've ordered a toddler bed, until then she's sleeping on her mattress on the floor. She just won't stay in her crib at all! She doing well though. We lay in the 'bed' and read books and tuck her in, then stay for a few minutes and sing and pat her back, then we leave. She gets up and tries to follow for a few minutes, but then goes back to the bed to sleep. She's adjusting well. I'm not, but she is! Really, I'm glad she's healthy and big and proud, but I miss my little baby!!

I'm sure you've noticed in previous pictures, but Makayla's hair is out of control. I didn't want to cut it, but its always in her eyes and she's started pushing it out of her face so I know it bothers her. I really didn't want her to have the bangs that start in the middle of her head, you know, the really thick ones?? Ideally, I didn't want her to have bangs at all, I just wanted them to grow out. But, I hate to see her frustrated by it in her face and its so fine we can't keep it pulled back. So, I decided to get it cut. We went to Sharkey's in Rockwall. She was great. She got a sucker, so she was happy!! I am not thrilled with the cut, too many bangs, but its out of her face, and it will grow. I think she looks like a different kid.
