My child cracks me up on a daily basis. She is just so funny. She tells great stories, she has awesome inflection and expression. She's like a little grown-up. Her vocabulary amazes me, and her memory is freakish. Lately she's said and done a few things I don't want to forget.
1. Apparently when I'm driving and cars cut me off or pull out in front of me I say, "Really car, really??" The other day I was driving and said it and Makayla told me, "Mommy, you ALWAYS say that." Later a car pulled out in front of us and she said, "Really car, Really??" She sounds exactly like me, its so funny! Now of course she does it all the time. She cracks me up.
2. She was telling us about her day during dinner and was saying that one girl is always in trouble. We asked what the little girl does and she started counting on her hands and saying {in her know-it-all voice}, "She doesn't listen to Mrs. D, She doesn't listen to me, She gets in my center when she's not suppose to - muy mal (with her thumbs down), and she puts her fingers in her mouth." I barely heard the last complaint I was trying so hard not to laugh at the random use of Spanish in the middle of her list. Glad to see the Spanish classes at school are working.
3. Yesterday we went to the library after school. She started acting up so we left without any books. We talked about listening and all that. We get home and she's playing with Wocket. I ask her to go get in her jammies and she tells me Wocket doesn't want to. I remind her that we are working on listening to Mommy and Daddy the first time we ask her to do something and that she needs to talk to Wocket about that. She does, but insists he still doesn't want to. I tell her that not listening means spankings. So, he still didn't want to and Jaocb gave Wocket spankings. Afterward Makayla took him back and said, "That hurt, didn't it." Then she went on to discuss with him how we listen to Mommy and Daddy and do things the first time, etc. She came back dressed in her jammies. Glad at least one of them is {hopefully} getting the message.
4. If she does something wrong at school, like talking when she shouldn't be, the teacher will take away her bike time. Yesterday I asked if she rode bikes during recess. She said, "Actually, I was allowed to, but I chose not to." Little Grown-Up.
I love that kid.
