So since the new year, I've only posted 5 times!! Shame on me!! Time to play catch up!!!
I still have our adults only trip to Cabo, Makayla's 4th birthday, and our family vacay to Galveston, but I've had enough for today!!

Since soccer was such a success this year, we decided to try out t-ball too. Not our best choice. We went through the YMCA, same as soccer, but we were less than impressed with the program. I do realize my daughter is 4 (3 at the time) and is not ready for all-out softball. Honestly, I get that. But, I did expect her to gain some skills or perhaps learn the rules or the point of t-ball/softball. Umm...no. They took turns hitting the ball off of the tee but could only advance one base at a time. Once everyone had 'batted', they took the field. There they either all ran for the ball and hurt each other or just took turns 'fielding'. There were no positions or anything and after they got the ball they just gave it back to the coach, didn't even try to 'get the out'. Add the 100+ temps to the disappointment and it just wasn't worth it to us. But, at least she looked cute and had a good time.

We FINALLY officially joined the church and got Makayla baptized this April. Jennie and her family were able to come in for it too. It was really special since she understood that we were promising to love God and to help her love God. She really has such a sweet heart and love for Him, its so precious. We asked to have the baptism between services rather than during. Reverend Pool officiated, he's wonderful, we were so glad he was able to do it.
**Please excuse the horrible, ugly bruise on her temple. She was on the 4 wheeler with Chance (Jacob's 9 year old nephew) and they hit a bump and she hit her head on the handlebars. They knew better than to ride it alone, and I think the incident reminded them why they have to be more careful. We are lucky it didn't hit and inch to the right or it would've gotten her eye.

This was Makayla's second year to play soccer and it was completely different from last year!! She was actually quite good!! She understood the point of the game and was pretty aggressive. She scored at least one goal in every game! And of course she was the cutest one out there!!

This Christmas season was the best one yet. Makayla was very much into Christmas and Santa this year. It made the holiday so fun!! We decided to start a tradition of going to look at Christmas lights. We went into Plano and drove around several neighborhoods that really went all out. It was great!
We had our annual Brumit Family Christmas at Paw Paw's. It's always so nice to see the whole family and watch all of the kids play together. My cousins Cheryl and Amanda made Makayla the cutest thing to hang her bows on. We love it!!
