Family Time!

Today it was 80 degrees, sunny, and beautiful! The wind wasn't blowing 30 mph like it has been - it was a perfect day!! We decided to head out to the Ft. Worth Zoo. We got there an hour after it opened, right at 11. There was hardly anyone there! We got a great parking spot and had clear views of all of the animals! As the afternoon wore on it got pretty crowded, so I'm glad we got there early!

Last year around this time we went to the Dallas Zoo. A year make a big difference!

Makayla had fun last year, but slept most of the time and didn't really care much about the animals. This year she stayed awake until the very end and was very curious about all of the animals. She loved pointing at them and saying 'Hi .... (bird, zebra, lion, etc.)' I was worried she would just want to run around like a crazy person all day, but she surprised me by usually wanting to be in her stroller just looking and pointing.

Her favorite part was when we went into the parakeet house. A nice lady gave us two food sticks so she got to feed the birds! They came right up to us - she loved it!! She tried petting them, but they flew off! We had a great day!!
