Its been almost a month since my last post, but I could pretty much copy the same post to describe this past week.
Last Saturday the weather was beautiful!! Temps in the 70s, sunny, wonderful!! However, Makayla's temperature was above normal as well. She woke up close to 102. Jacob took off on Monday and took her to the doctor - Flu (again) and (another) ear infection. It was a different strand of flu and the ear infection was in the other ear.
Monday was probably the worst.day.ever. We woke up to a sicker kid, and the heater wasn't working. Since they were calling for below freezing temps starting Tuesday it was a pretty big deal that the heat wouldn't come on!! So, Jacob's day off was spent at the doctor, the pharmacy (who didn't have Tamiflu and we had to call 3 different places to find it), calling and waiting for the heat people, and waiting for the furniture people to deliver our new dining room table, and taking care of our sicky. Not a fun day.
Tuesday we woke up to 1/8"-1/4" of ice and NO SCHOOL! We were both able to stay home and take care of Makayla. Since temps didn't get above freezing until Saturday, not to mention the 6" or so of snow we got Thursday night, we were out of school for the rest of the week. Makayla's fever FINALLY broke on Thursday. SIX DAYS OF FEVER!! AHHHH!!! We were lucky to be able to stay home with sicky all week and not have to take off! (except Monday of course) There were rolling blackouts in the area on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we didn't have any of that. Several people we know lost water or had pipes burst, we lucked out and didn't have those issues either. All in all, it was a pretty lucky week for us, even if it didn't start out that way!
We wouldn't let Makayla play in the snow on Friday since she was just getting better, but we did bring some in and made Snow Cream. Fun and Yummy!!! Saturday we let her get out and play in the snow for a while. She kept saying, "This is the best snow day EVER!" So cute!! We also got brave and took her to Chuck E Cheese, she deserved some play time! Here's hoping this week is healthy!!

Hey Cat...gosh, it IS deja vu! I'm happy to be home with the family again though:). Poor Makayla with those 6 days of fever. I am SO happy she is better. I hope you are all well & doing good. Well, spring is around the corner so hopefully nice days are ahead soon and we can meet at the park.
Cutest snow angel ever.
